Vinyl spray requires a lot more to be put on in thing coats, but doesn't flake as easilly as the bumper coating. Bumper coating works well on hard plastic, but not so well on the vinyl material covering most of the doors, or the dash. FWIW, all the bumpercoatings I have used matched the VS3 almost exactly, so there is no problem in the black clashing with a different shade of black.
